Top Transfer Prospects for 2024 – Part 2

We continue looking at some of the top transfer targets of 2024 in part 2.

With another big year of football ahead of us, we’ve taken a look at some of the biggest transfer targets in the upcoming year.

You can read part 1 here.

Santiago Gimenez

Santiago Gimenez was born in Argentina, plays international football for Mexico, and currently plies his trade for a club in the Netherlands. That last point might not be the case beyond 2024, though.

For now Feyenoord are benefitting from the 22-year-old’s abilities. Gimenez enjoyed a magnificent debut campaign with the Dutch side, scoring 23 goals in 45 games in 2022/23.

He has been even more prolific so far this term. Not every striker that has thrived in the Netherlands succeeds elsewhere, but Gimenez is a possible transfer target for several major European clubs.

Evan Ferguson

Brighton & Hove Albion have made hundreds of millions of euros from the sales of players like Moises Caicedo, Ben White and Marc Cucurella in recent years. Evan Ferguson will one day generate a huge fee for the club too.

Brighton may not be ready to sell him in 2024. This is the Irish striker’s first full season in the first-team squad at the Amex Stadium. He recently put pen to paper on a deal that runs all the way to 2029.

Still, a large bid from a PL giant – or one based in Spain, Germany, France or Italy – could force Brighton’s hand.

Youssoufa Moukoko

Borussia Dortmund are renowned for their youth production and Youssoufa Moukoko is perhaps the brightest starlet in their ranks at present. Still just 19 years of age, he chipped in with seven Bundesliga goals as BVB came close to winning the title last season.

In truth, Moukoko will probably spend another couple of years at Signal Iduna Park. He will take note of the former BVB striker, who benefitted from spending a few seasons as Dortmund’s first-choice centre-forward before moving to Manchester.

A departure in 2024 is not entirely out of the question, though, especially if Moukoko has a strong second half of the campaign.

Jadon Sancho

A former Borussia Dortmund winger, Jadon Sancho’s stock has fallen since his move to Manchester United in 2021. He is currently exiled from the first team at Old Trafford after falling out with Erik ten Hag.

If the Dutchman is sacked in the coming weeks, Sancho could have a future at United under a new manager. As things stand, though, he is likely to be on his way out in January, potentially in a loan deal with an option to buy.

Saudi Arabia’s Pro League is seen as a possible destination, but Sancho would surely prefer to stay in Europe at this stage of his career. Juventus are among those thought to be keeping a close eye on the situation.

Jean-Clair Todibo

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are just two of the clubs credited with an interest in Jean-Clair Todibo, who will surely be on his way out of Nice in 2024.

The French side will not want to sell the centre-back midway through the season, so a January transfer is improbable. However, they may be powerless to resist Todibo’s exit at the end of the season.

The two-time France international will turn 24 at the end of December. He may well feel that the time has come for him to spread his wings by moving overseas.
